Surah Falaq (الفلق), meaning Daybreak or Dawn. It is the 113th Surah (chapter) in the Quran and has 5 ayahs (verses). It was among the early chapters revealed in Makkah (before the Hijrah). There is a difference of opinion between the fact that Surah Falaq is revealed in Makkah or Madinah.
It is a Surah to be recited by the authority in the five (compulsory) prayers. This Surah praises Almighty Allah and thus, it has the status of Ibadah (worship). It consists of 7 verses.
